Carpet Aftercare

Here’s what you need to know to keep your new soft flooring looking and feeling its best!

Soil Containment

Place mats both inside and outside entrances to minimise soiling in your carpet. Outdoor mats are designed to trap large amounts of debris and soils, from the soles of footwear. Inside mats help remove smaller particles of dirt, as well as oils, and other soiling that can be tracked in from outside.

Frequent Vacuuming

Thorough vacuuming removes dirt particles that dull the carpets appearance and cause fibre damage. Vacuuming removes 90% of dry soils that can accelerate wear and fibre abrasion, and it is therefore an essential step to preserving the carpet life and appearance. During the vacuuming process, be vigilant for any new or fresh staining, and attend to these as soon as possible

Deal with stains as soon as possible, the faster you act, the better the results! First, remove as much of the foreign material as possible: carefully scrape off thick or sticky material with a spoon, vacuum up crusty pieces if it is dry. You can easily remove most stains by simply dabbing at them with a clean cloth and lukewarm water. Never scrub the stain.

Spot and Stain Removal

When a carpet appears dirty even after vacuuming, it’s time for a professional clean. Consult a professional cleaner for the best method of cleaning. An annual professional hot water extraction is often required to retain your warranty.

Periodic Professional Cleaning

Vinyl Aftercare

Just got your new vinyl flooring? Here’s how to keep it looking fabulous for years to come!

Initial Clean

24 hours after the installation is complete, clean your vinyl. Start by vacuuming the floor to remove loose dirt, then mop the floor using warm water and a neutral pH detergent.

Dry Cleaning

Maintain the beauty of your floor with a simple daily vacuum or by sweeping away dust using a soft-bristled brush.

Damp Cleaning

Wash your vinyl flooring regularly using warm water and a neutral pH detergent. This gentle combination is tough on dirt but kind to your floor’s surface, helping preserve its finish and appearance. Always avoid harsh cleaners that can strip away the protective layer or leave behind a dull residue. DO NOT USE A STEAM MOP.

To maintain your vinyl flooring, avoid steam mops, rubber materials, harsh chemicals, and waxes or sprays that can damage the finish or void the warranty. Use felt pads on furniture, place clean mats at entryways, and always lift—never drag—heavy items.
